Welcome to our online Spinone community! Information on Spinone
related topics and immediate access to knowledge from others can
also be found on
our Spinone USA Forum. It is our hope that Spinone owners from around the
world will become an integral part of the site and offer
their Spinone wisdom and anecdotes to fellow enthusiasts.
This site is a collaborative
effort of a number of Spinone enthusiasts, folks that have been
owned by the breed for many years. These contributors have a
variety of interests and expertise, and are located
world-wide. Our goal is to offer information on a variety of
topics, but more
importantly, to encourage
an environment where
ideas and opinions can be openly exchanged. There will be times
when some will have to agree to disagree, but in the spirit of
being open to new ideas, our breed can only benefit from the open
communication, and sharing of opinions and expertise.
This site will
address a multitude of topics. Provided links will introduce
information pertinent to your life with a Spinone beginning with
choosing the breeder, selecting the right pup for your lifestyle,
bringing the pup home, routine care and nutrition, grooming for
health and showing, organized activities and clubs open to the
versatility of this breed, and various issues as the pup advances
thru the life cycle into the teenage, middle, and senior
years with their special needs. You will find answers to specific
concerns regarding breed specific health issues, life altering and
life threatening illnesses, the complexities of breeding, poisons
and hazards in and around the home, the pros and cons of importing
a dog, safety practices and tips when traveling with your Spinone
and virtually any other topic that might interest you. There
will be a section available for stud dog owners to list their
dog(s) with a picture, pedigree and any additional data about
their dog(s).
For your information, I have
also included links to join the various Spinone email lists you
can find on the internet. In addition, if you know of upcoming
Spinone-related events, from dog shows, supported entries at
shows, hunt test or training, to a gathering of folks in a
particular location, please send me the info and I will post it on
the site.

Spinone USA Forum |

The forum is designed to be an almost
interactive environment where questions can be posted and
folks with experience or input can reply. It is similar to an
email list, except that your email Inbox does not fill up and
the topic thread, or entire conversation can be viewed from
one location. Pictures can be posted and there are
topics already setup and available for discussion. The forum
is setup for members only, but it is easy to signup and all
are welcome to join. The membership requirement simply removes
spammers from joining and others outside of the Spinone or
canine world that might intend some sort of disruption.
The success of the forum depends on our members (and
guests) to use this foundation and build on it by sharing our
knowledge, stories, photos and friendship in an open and
honest forum. |
